About Us

History

Founded in 2018 by Reagan and his now wife, Toyah, Symphony Construction was born from a shared vision and complementary skills. Reagan had been working as a foreman in the Waikato, while Toyah brought her expertise from a strong business background. Together, they made the perfect team.

With encouragement and support from another builder, Reagan took a leap of faith—leaving his 9-to-5 job, purchasing a van, and taking on an apprentice. It wasn’t long before the hard work paid off. The projects started flowing in, and before they knew it, renovations became their specialty.

As demand grew, Symphony Construction expanded their team, adding another apprentice to the mix. With the building boom in full swing, a fully qualified carpenter soon joined, strengthening the team even further. As well as growing the team, Reagan also grew his family, adding two more sons to bring the total to 3, and a golden retriever. A family of 5 plus the furr baby. Despite the industry’s inevitable ups and downs, Symphony Construction stayed strong, continuing to deliver quality workmanship and exceptional results.

In 2024, their dedication to excellence was recognized in a big way. Symphony Construction proudly took home multiple accolades at the Master Builder Awards, achieving Gold, Top 100, and both regional and national wins — a testament to their commitment to craftsmanship and client satisfaction.

Today, Symphony Construction continues to thrive, helping homeowners across the Waikato and beyond bring their building dreams to life. With a strong foundation of experience, passion, and integrity, Reagan, Toyah, and their dedicated team are proud to build homes that stand the test of time.

Meet The Team

Reagan is the founder and hands-on leader of Symphony Construction. Known for his meticulous nature and commitment to doing the job right, he ensures every project is delivered to the highest standard.

Raised in a proud farming family, Reagan brings strong values and a solid work ethic to the business. A natural teacher, he takes pride in mentoring apprentices, passing on his knowledge and setting them up for successful building careers.

His passion for carpentry began early—he entered the industry straight out of school, starting his apprenticeship with a local builder in Thames. Reagan credits his love for the trade to that early mentor and his high school woodwork teacher.

Today, he remains the face of Symphony Construction, combining decades of hands-on experience with a deep dedication to quality, integrity, and craftsmanship.

Logan has been part of the Symphony Construction team since 2021. Inspired by his love for woodwork class in school, he decided to turn that passion into a career in the building trade. He takes pride in transforming bare land into beautifully finished homes and finds genuine satisfaction in seeing projects come to life.

One of Logan’s favourite things about working at Symphony is the close-knit camaraderie of the crew. When he’s not on the tools, you’ll likely find him out fishing—either off the beach or out on a boat.

Nate has been in the carpentry trade for five years and has enjoyed every step of the journey. His passion for building started with a bit of casual labour on a previous job—and he’s been hooked ever since.

Now in his third year as an apprentice with Symphony Construction, Nate approaches every challenge head-on and is excited to dive into year four. He’s committed to mastering his craft and takes real pride in the progress he’s made.

Outside of work, Nate enjoys gaming, discovering hidden gems around Aotearoa, and spending time with the lads.

Originally from Northland, Jake grew up on a dairy farm and discovered an early interest in hands-on work. He left school at 15 to study carpentry through G&H Training, successfully completing his theory assessments.

In 2019, Jake moved to the Waikato to further pursue a career in building, starting with labouring work in Matamata. After sustaining an injury, he shifted gears into the motorcycle industry—working with Pirelli to distribute gear and tyres—before eventually returning to his passion for construction.

Now an apprentice with Symphony Construction, Jake is loving every aspect of the role. Outside of work, he enjoys fishing, gaming, motocross, restoring classic cars, and lending a hand in his father-in-law’s workshop.
